The tower was built in 1929 to commemorate the centennial of the birth of the city"s founder, John Harris. The tower stands at a height of 105 feet and is constructed of Indiana limestone. It features a four-sided clock with four faces and a bell that chimes on the hour. The tower is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
